How to Wax Upper lip:

Step 1:

Take 1 cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of water and 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice in a small saucepan. Combine all the ingredients and put the saucepan on a medium flame. Now you have to stir it constantly and heat for about 8 minutes, till you get a thick and honey like consistency.

Step 2:

Once you get the desired consistency, you can remove it from the heat and transfer the content into a heat-safe container. Leave it aside for a few minutes to get cooled. As it gets cooled, you have to wash your face well with the cleanser that you use regularly. Make sure that you have removed all traces of makeup from your skin. Use a clean towel or wash cloth and pat dry your face.

Step 3:

After drying your face with the towel, take a brush and apply a light dusting of face powder on your upper lip. This helps in protecting your skin from the wax.

Step 4:

Before you apply the sugar mixture on your upper lip, you have to test the temperature of the mixture by putting a little of it on your wrist. If the mixture is warm, but not uncopmfortably hot on your skin, then the sugar wax is of the right temperature, and can be applied on your skin.

Step 5:

Now take a spatula and use it to apply the sugar wax on your upper lip. You have to pull your upper lip straight down over your teeth so that a flat surface is created for the application of the sugar wax. As you apply the wax, make sure that you apply it thicker on the outer edges than the centre part.

Step 6:

After applying it evenly on the skin, take a square cotton cloth that is thin, and press down the sugar wax mixture on your upper lip with the cloth. Let the mixture remain on your skin for one minute. You can keep the cloth pressed if you need to.

Step 7:

Now what you have to do is to pull the cloth up in a swift and sharp movement, in the direction opposite to the natural growth of hair on your upper lip. Take care to keep your movement firm and flowing.

Step 8:

Since the hair is ripped off from your skin, you may feel pain. So, keep an ice cube over your upper lip. This helps in reducing the pain, inflammation and the redness on the skin.
